CORPUS STUDIOS PILATES TEACHER PROGRAMME - COMPREHENSIVE
This programme offers a Classical Pilates Education with a contemporary approach. The teaching & philosophy is progressive and integrative and in addition to the core instruction modules, we provide personal coaching, group tutorials and guest lecturers, where appropriate, throughout your training period. It has been created to deliver quality instruction in the most time efficient and affordable manner possible. It is designed to be a progressive educational path, with each subsequent course building upon the others to form a full certification. Student Teachers take time to build their skills between levels so that there is a depth of knowledge and skill which benefits their students. There are four levels Foundation and Levels 1, 2 and 3.

You may use of the studios of Classical Pilates UK for completion of apprentice hours and we encourage the development of collaborative learning among experienced teachers and new apprentices. This dynamic encourages the sharing knowledge, experimentation and the development of confidence.
FUNCTIONAL ANATOMY AND KINESIOLOGY (FAK) –
11 hours and minimum 40 hours recorded study
Taught and examined separately this introductory course covers all aspects of Anatomy and Physiology required for an Advanced Level Fitness Instructor. The teaching relates this knowledge to the Pilates Method as a movement system. Anatomy and Physiology is also taught at every additional level of training. It includes for example:
- Skeleton
- Posture
- Nervous System
- Syndesmology / Joints and ligaments
- Muscles
- Cardio-vascular / Circulatory System
- Movement science
- Medical Terms and Terms of Location
(Note: If you hold a degree in physiotherapy you do not require to attend this course but will be asked to write exam and purchase manual)
PROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT AND PROGRAMME DESIGN (PMP) –

- Professional standards
- Objective setting
- Programme Design
There is an assessed interview during this course and a theory exam for each unit.
COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAMME:
Instruction is on the Mat, Reformer and Cadillac for Introductory through Beginner/Advanced levels. Through action-oriented coaching, self-evaluation tools feedback, The Foundation and level 1 courses prepare instructors to teach Private Sessions and Small-group Classes in a safe, effective and flowing workout. The level 2 and 3 courses challenge the skills of the teacher and introduces more advanced Cueing Components, Touch Techniques, session adaptation and the needs of the more advanced athletic client and additional education on modifications and variations for the special needs client. Learn Intermediate and Advanced exercises, while deepening the skills needed to teach these exercises in Private Sessions and Small-group Classes.
OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of each level Course you are expected to:
- Explain the Fundamentals, Principles and Key Concepts that form the basis of Josephs Pilates' work.
- Apply the Corpus Pilates teaching philosophy when teaching all fitness levels; to both individuals and small groups.
- List and perform, in sequential order, all exercises and transitions taught in the course.
- Develop/fine-tune teaching skills for effective cueing, imagery and hand/body placement.
- Understand anatomy and kinesiology from an integrated perspective and relate this knowledge to the Pilates Method as a movement system. Focus is on postures and core anatomy.
- Recognize techniques for identifying/addressing student physical requirements and individual needs.
- Implement coaching/feedback techniques during the course for Assessor feedback and professional development

Completion of FAK and PMP course. Successful pass on each prior level. We anticipate a minimum of 6 months between levels.
Minimum of 10 hours private Pilates lessons with a pre-trainer or audition and proof of previous training on Pilates apparatus-Reformer / Cadillac & Mat
